The Johnson Geared Motor (Grade B) 30 RPM is a robust and efficient DC motor commonly used in various applications due to its high torque and low-speed operation. Here’s a comprehensive overview of its features, setup, and applications:
Key Features
Base Motor RPM: The motor has a base speed of 18000 RPM, which is reduced to 30 RPM through its gearbox, providing high torque at a low speed.
Operating Voltage: It operates within a voltage range of 6-18 V DC, with a recommended operating voltage of 12 V DC.
Rated Torque: The motor delivers a rated torque of 9.4 kg-cm at 30 RPM, making it suitable for applications requiring substantial force.
Stall Torque: The motor can handle up to 37.6 kg-cm of stall torque, allowing it to perform well under load.
Dimensions: The gearbox has diameter of 37 mm , shaft has a diameter of 6 mm and the shaft length is 30 mm , the motor has the dimension of 27 mm making it compact and easy to integrate into various projects.
Shaft: The motor features a side shaft with metal bushes, enhancing durability and wear resistance.
Mounting: Equipped with six M3 mounting holes, the motor is designed for easy installation and secure mounting in your projects.
Applications
Pan/Tilt Cameras:
Smooth Movement: Ideal for applications requiring smooth and precise movement, such as pan/tilt mechanisms in surveillance cameras.
Robotic Arms: Can be used to control the movement of robotic arms in automation systems.
Household Appliances:
Grills and Ovens: Used in automated grills and ovens for consistent and controlled motion.
Cleaning Machines: Suitable for use in various cleaning machines for precise and reliable operation.
Robotic Platforms:
Educational Robots: Widely used in educational robotics kits to teach students about motor control and automation.
DIY Robotics Projects: Perfect for hobbyists building custom robots and automation systems.
Coin Refund Devices:
Vending Machines: Commonly found in coin refund mechanisms in vending machines and other coin-operated devices.
Ticket Dispensers: Used in automated ticket dispensers for controlled dispensing of tickets. Safety Precautions
Avoid Physical Contact: Keep hands and other objects away from the motor when it is powered to prevent injuries.
Safety and Precautions
Check Voltage: Ensure the power supply voltage matches the motor’s specifications to prevent damage.
Regular Maintenance: Periodically check the motor and gearbox for wear and tear. Lubricate moving parts as needed and clean any dust or de
bris.
Special Note
We are selling 2 types of Johnson Motors as “Johnson Geared Motor – Grade A Quality” and “Johnson Geared Motor – Grade B“, the only difference between them is the quality of materials used for manufacturing the motor. All other specification including look, dimensions, working etc. are same. The “Grade A Quality” motors shows slightly more torque count than “Grade B” Johnson Motors and hence dominates “Grade B” quality motors.
